Permanent jewelry FAQ.
Everything you need to know before your appointment — safety, aftercare, metals, and more. Don't see your question? Email us or text (239) 361-5757.
What exactly is permanent jewelry?
Permanent jewelry is a custom-fit chain welded closed without a traditional clasp — so there's nothing to fumble with each morning. It stays on comfortably until you choose to remove it. Most people never feel it's there.
Does the welding process hurt?
Not at all. The weld is a quick, painless spark that links the two ends of the chain. It takes just a second and is completely comfortable — it only touches the metal, never your skin.
Is permanent jewelry safe for sensitive skin or metal allergies?
We weld with solid gold, gold vermeil and gold-filled, sterling silver, and stainless steel — quality metals that suit most skin types, including many people with sensitive skin. If you have a known history of metal allergies, let us know before your appointment so we can help you pick the right metal, and check with your physician if you're unsure.
Can I get an MRI or go through airport security with permanent jewelry?
Yes, airport metal detectors are not an issue. For an MRI or certain surgical procedures, the piece will need to come off first — a small pair of scissors or clippers can snip the jump ring at the weld point, and we offer one complimentary re-weld if it's removed for a verified medical reason.
How much does permanent jewelry cost?
Pricing depends on the piece, chain style, and metal you choose. Visit our pricing page for current ranges, or reach out and we'll help you find the right piece for your budget.
Can I take permanent jewelry off if I need to?
Yes. A small pair of scissors or clippers can snip the jump ring at the weld point, and we can re-weld it for you anytime. Prefer the flexibility? Ask for a removable clasp instead — same custom fit, just with a clasp.
How long does permanent jewelry last?
With normal wear, quality permanent jewelry can last for years. Many of our clients have worn their pieces daily since their appointment with no issues. Chains can occasionally stretch, snag, or need a re-weld over time — we're always happy to help if that happens.
Can I shower, swim, or exercise with permanent jewelry?
Yes — that's the point. Permanent jewelry is designed for everyday wear, including showering, swimming, and working out. Chlorine and saltwater are generally fine with quality metals, though we recommend rinsing with fresh water after ocean or pool swims to help your piece last longer.
What metals and styles do you offer?
We offer pieces in solid gold, rose and yellow gold vermeil and gold-filled, sterling silver, and stainless steel — with 160+ chains and charms across delicate, layered, pearl, stone, and coastal-inspired styles.
How long does an appointment take?
Choosing your chain is the fun part — allow a little time to browse and layer. The custom fit and weld itself takes just a few minutes per piece. We'll never rush you.
Is permanent jewelry safe for kids or teens?
Permanent jewelry is not recommended for children under 14. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who will be asked to provide consent.
Do you host groups, parties, or corporate events?
Absolutely. Bridal showers, birthdays, pop-ups, corporate events, and private parties are a specialty. Reach out and we'll bring the full permanent jewelry experience to you, wherever you are in Southwest Florida.
